Hailing from Millstreet\, she is best known for her collaborations with her brother\, Tadhg Twomey\, with the duo often described as the “heart and soul” of the sessions they lead. \nEmer’s musical style is rooted in the rich traditions of North Cork and the surrounding areas. Whether performing as part of a lively pub session or on a festival stage\, her playing is noted for its authenticity and rhythmic lift. Over the years\, she has become a mainstay at various traditional music gatherings across Ireland\, including the Jim Dowling Uilleann Pipe and Trad Festival and sessions in renowned venues such as The Mills Inn in Ballyvourney and The Courthouse in Dingle. \nBeyond her instrumental skill\, Emer is also a talented singer\, often blending vocal performances with intricate tune sets. Her presence at the Ballincollig Winter Music Festival brings a local perspective and a wealth of experience from the Cork session circuit\, celebrating the shared joy of the living tradition.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” centered_text=”true” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” column_padding_type=”default” gradient_type=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

For generations\, the bar has served as a welcoming space where the heritage of Irish music is preserved through the lived experience of the session. Its history is etched into the very fabric of the building\, which has remained a steadfast supporter of local artists and traveling musicians alike. \nTraditional music at Healy’s is characterized by its intimate\, unforced nature. Rather than a formal performance\, the sessions here prioritize the organic exchange of tunes—jigs\, reels\, and hornpipes—that have been passed down through the Cork and Kerry traditions. This commitment to the “pure drop” of trad music has made Healy’s a respected name among players who value authenticity and the social connection that a great session provides. It remains a place where the history of the town meets the living pulse of Irish culture\, ensuring that the old songs and stories continue to find an audience in the modern day.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” centered_text=”true” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” column_padding_type=”default” gradient_type=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Originally from San Francisco\, Athena’s musicality was forged under the tutelage of masters like Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and Alasdair Fraser. Her storied career includes starring as the principal fiddler in Riverdance on Broadway\, touring with the Sharon Shannon Band\, and a long-standing collaboration with Mick Moloney in The Green Fields of America. Now based in Tuscany\, Athena returns to the Irish stage with a style that is as elegant as it is energetic\, characterized by a unique “global” perspective on traditional tunes. \nJoining her is Liam Flanagan\, a native of North County Cork and one of the most respected fiddle and banjo players in the country. Liam is perhaps best known as a key member of the legendary Cork band North Cregg\, with whom he has toured the world and recorded extensively. His playing is deeply rooted in the rhythmic “lift” of the Sliabh Luachra tradition\, yet he is celebrated for a versatility that has seen him perform with high-profile acts like Danú and the Derek Hickey Quartet.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” centered_text=”true” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” column_padding_type=”default” gradient_type=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

At the heart of the group are the exceptional talents of Sonny Condell of Tír na nÓg\, alongside Philip King and Robbie Overson—musicians whose collective work has helped shape the sound and spirit of contemporary Irish folk and roots music. Renowned for performances that are both intimate and electrifying\, Scullion’s music blends tradition with fearless experimentation\, resulting in songs that feel timeless yet urgent. Their legacy continues to resonate with new generations\, underpinned by a rich back catalogue that captures decades of creative excellence.\nSharing the stage is INNI-K (Eithne Ní Chatháin)\, one of Ireland’s most compelling and distinctive contemporary artists. A singer\, multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and songwriter\, Inni-K draws deeply from her grounding in sean-nós and traditional Irish music while consistently pushing beyond its boundaries. Her work is defined by emotional clarity\, textural depth\, and a willingness to explore new sonic landscapes. \nHer fourth studio album\, Still A Day\, released in September 2025\, marks her most expansive and ambitious work to date. Fully original and creatively fearless\, the album weaves folk foundations with elements of ambient\, jazz\, and art-song\, resulting in music that is both meditative and transformative. Critics have praised its luminous sensitivity and emotional reach\, describing it as an album that unsettles\, consoles\, and ultimately affirms. \nTogether\, these artists represent the depth\, evolution\, and continuing vitality of Irish music—rooted in tradition\, yet boldly forward-looking.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” centered_text=”true” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” column_padding_type=”default” gradient_type=”default”][nectar_btn size=”large” open_new_tab=”true” button_style=”regular” button_color_2=”Accent-Color” solid_text_color_override=”#ffffff” icon_family=”none” text=”Tickets” url=”https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/scullion-special-guest-inni-k-tickets-1978113723396?aff=ebdsoporgprofile”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

As a key member of Spillane’s ensemble\, Nigel’s fiddle playing has graced numerous recordings and live performances\, including the acclaimed Magic Nights in the Lobby Bar and the ambitious Gaelic folk opera Fíoruisce – The Legend of the Lough. His ability to weave intricate melodic lines around contemporary folk songwriting has made him a sought-after accompanist and a familiar face on major stages like the Cork Opera House and Cyprus Avenue. \nBeyond his work as an accompanist\, Nigel is a dedicated traditionalist. He has been featured prominently on TG4’s Geantraí\, performing alongside other masters of the craft such as Niall Vallely and Cormac de Fréin. He was also a core member of the acclaimed stage production Pulses of Tradition\, which showcased the rich heritage of Cork’s music and dance to international audiences. \nWhether leading a high-energy session in a local pub or contributing to experimental folk projects\, Nigel Grufferty’s playing is marked by a soulful precision and a deep connection to the regional styles of Munster. Since then Lisa has released Passenger (2011) and At Swim (2016) to huge critical acclaim in Ireland and the United States. 2019 saw the release of Live in Dublin recorded in the National Concert Hall with the contemporary-classical orchestra\, s t a r g a z e. Following her sold out collaboration with the Irish Arts Center in New York earlier this year\, Lisa Hannigan brought this very special production home with five dates around the country last November. After nearly a decade without new studio releases\, he returns with Symbol\, a six-track EP out September 17 on Mythmaker Records and Cruzen Street Records. \n“These are my interpretations of tunes that inspired me\,” says McKee. The EP reimagines works by major influences like Michael Hedges\, Preston Reed\, Billy McLaughlin\, and Prince. Its lead single\, “Ragamuffin\,” pays tribute to Hedges\, whose ability to write emotionally resonant solo guitar music deeply shaped McKee’s style. \nA standout moment is McKee’s haunting take on Prince’s “Purple Rain.” Having toured with Prince in 2012\, McKee first arranged the song for the “Welcome 2 Australia” shows. “Prince taught me to keep the music—not the technique—at the forefront\,” he recalls. \nOther highlights include Preston Reed’s “Chattanooga\,” which McKee calls “one of the finest fingerstyle pieces ever written\,” and the “Rocky IV Medley\,” created with Vince DiCola\, whose soundtrack compositions inspired McKee as a child.\nRenowned for transforming the steel-string guitar into a one-man orchestra through tapping\, altered tunings\, and percussive techniques\, McKee has earned millions of YouTube views—his song “Drifting” alone surpassing 60 million. He’s been featured on the covers of Acoustic Guitar and Acoustic magazines and hosts his own guitar retreat\, Musicarium. His global tours have spanned Europe\, Asia\, Australia\, and North America\, sharing stages with icons like Tommy Emmanuel and Dream Theater.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” centered_text=”true” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” column_padding_type=”default” gradient_type=”default”][nectar_btn size=”large” open_new_tab=”true” button_style=”regular” button_color_2=”Accent-Color” solid_text_color_override=”#ffffff” icon_family=”none” text=”Tickets Coming Soon” url=”https://whitehorse.ie/andymckee/”][/vc_column][/vc_row]

A founding member of Kíla\, Ó Snodaigh’s voice moves between chant\, song and incantation\, shaped by the Irish language and decades of boundary-blurring performance. Composer and filmmaker O’Reilly builds spacious\, atmospheric environments where words are given room to breathe and unfold. Together they favour presence over spectacle\, creating live performances that feel less like concerts and more like shared\, attentive gatherings\, intimate\, hypnotic and emotionally direct. \nThe duos second album The Beautiful Road\, a soulful blend of folk\, traditional and ambient crossover follows the success of their debut album Tá Go Maith\, which was warmly received by Irish audiences after its release in May 2020. \nIn The Beautiful Road the pair set out to create a soothing listening experience by focusing on higher frequencies\, inspired by the calming effects of nature\, while also seeking to counter the increased levels of intrusive ambient ‘white noise’ caused by traffic\, machinery\, and other unpredictable sounds arising from the world’s post pandemic return to frenzied norms.

SUMMARY:Kenan Flannery & Colm Gavin: The Dublin Songwriters Tour
DESCRIPTION:Dublin’s most celebrated troubadours bring their acclaimed co-headline tour to The White Horse\, featuring special guest Kevin Quigley. \nKenan Flannery & Colm Gavin: The Dublin Songwriters Tour \nWith Special Guest Kevin Quigley \nExperience a night of masterclass songwriting as two of Dublin’s most celebrated troubadours bring their acclaimed co-headline tour to the intimate surroundings of The White Horse. \nKenan Flannery is a “storyteller for the damned and broken.” At 26\, this IYMA award-winning songwriter has become the talk of the Irish folk scene for music described as “bone-breakingly beautiful.” With a voice that hits with the raw intensity of a hundred Irish poets\, Kenan bridges the gap between the gritty ballads of The Dubliners and the legendary American folk of John Prine and Townes Van Zandt. Fresh from supporting The White Buffalo and The Wolfe Tones\, Kenan brings an authentic\, haunting energy to the stage that is as visceral as it is vulnerable. \nJoining him is Colm Gavin\, a prolific force in contemporary Irish music. Signed to BEO Records (home to Moya Brennan)\, Gavin has secured multiple No. 1 albums and has seen his work reach the Billboard 100 in the USA. Renowned for his razor-sharp wit and sensitive\, soaring compositions\, Colm has graced iconic stages from Vicar Street to New York’s Birdland Jazz Club\, establishing himself as a singular voice in modern songwriting. \nOpening the evening is Cork-based folk artist Kevin Quigley. Originally from Laois\, Quigley has quickly become a standout figure in the southern scene\, recently supporting the legendary Mary Black. His music is a heartfelt blend of intimate country-folk and indie-rock\, drawing on the honesty of Glen Hansard and Bob Dylan. With his recent EP Catch You Down the Road receiving critical acclaim\, Kevin sets the tone for a night dedicated to the art of the song. \n“The essence of folk music in its rawest and most authentic form.”
