On 17 December, Upstairs at The White Horse played host to a really special Christmas concert, led by soprano Ciara Breen, alongside guitarist Jim Murray, violinist Dominic-Lucian Drutac and cellist Ivan Cherednichenko Carrillo. It was a warm, intimate evening of beautiful music and festive atmosphere.
Originally from Wexford, Ciara is currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Her musical journey began at just seven, rooted in traditional Irish music, before developing into classical vocal training both in Ireland and later in London. Ciara has performed widely, from major concert halls and cathedrals to choir performances and solo recitals, building an impressive and varied musical career at a young age.
Alongside her classical work, Ciara is also deeply involved in the folk scene, performing regularly and collaborating with other musicians across Ireland and the UK.
This Christmas concert was a lovely showcase of talent and versatility, and a memorable evening for all who attended.
