The latest Ballincollig Networking at Noon event saw an inspirational talk by a Cork sporting legend.

Guest speakers at the most recent Ballincollig Business Association (BBA) networking event were Ita Madden from the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) and former Munster Rugby captain and businessman Billy Holland.

The most recent event had over 50 people in attendance and organisers hailed it as a tremendous success.

The Networking at Noon events happen in April and October each year, and have become a staple in the diaries of the business community based on the western side of the city.

First off was Ita Madden who enlightened the audience on the significant range of supports available from Cork LEO to support small businesses in Ballincollig.

Then the audience were treated to an inspirational interview style discussion with Billy Holland. Con Nagle of Global Properties and BBA committee member did the honours and probed Billy on how his rugby career prepared him for his business career.

Billy took over the EBS franchise in Cork from his father Jerry following his untimely passing in 2022.

Billy told the gathering that “treating colleagues with respect is the most important aspect of being a people leader, recognising where everyone is on their career journey and supporting them to fulfil their dreams and ambitions”.

Following this, the attendees were invited to network and undertake a 3 minute pitch with each other while enjoying a light lunch.

Emer Cassidy, Chairperson Ballincollig Business Association said: “These events are so incredibly positive; the feedback has been fantastic. Both Billy and Ita inspired us all.”

The next BBA network at noon event will take place in the Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig in April 2024. For further info contact admin@ballincollig.ie.
